Currently, over 3,000 Afghans with admission approvals for Germany are waiting in Pakistan for their visa documents to be issued so they can travel to Germany. The security screening and visa issuance often take several months—too long, as Pakistani security authorities began deporting these individuals back to Afghanistan last week. Among them are former local employees who face serious threats to their lives if returned to Afghanistan. German authorities are responsible for ensuring the timely evacuation of these at-risk individuals.
Germany must fulfill its responsibility toward those who have advocated for Western values in Afghanistan. These individuals have left everything behind in reliance on their admission approvals and now face greater danger than ever if forced to return.

- Faster processing of visa applications and security screenings to prevent further deportations of Afghans with approved admissions to Germany.
